What is a single girder EOT crane?
A single girder EOT crane has one bridge girder spanning the bay, with an electric wire rope hoist running underneath it on the bottom flange. It is the most economical overhead crane for capacities up to about 20 Ton and spans up to 25 m, and it puts lower loads on the building structure than a double girder crane.
What is the maximum capacity of a single girder EOT crane?
Single girder EOT cranes are practical up to about 20 Ton. Above that, the girder section and deflection limits make a double girder EOT crane more economical and more reliable.
How much does a 2 Ton or 5 Ton single girder EOT crane cost?
Pricing depends on span, lift height, duty class and control type. As a guide, a 2 Ton crane with a 12 m span is considerably cheaper than a 5 Ton crane with a 20 m span and VFD control.
