What is an EOT crane?
An EOT (Electric Overhead Travelling) crane is a bridge crane that travels on rails fixed to gantry girders along the length of a shed. A hoist moves across the bridge (cross travel) while the bridge moves along the bay (long travel), so the hook can reach almost any point in the covered area. All three motions — hoisting, cross travel and long travel — are electrically driven and operated by pendant, radio remote or an operator cabin.
What are the types of EOT cranes?
The main types are single girder EOT cranes (1–20 Ton), double girder EOT cranes (5–100 Ton and above), underslung EOT cranes that run from the roof structure, and special purpose cranes such as ladle cranes, magnet cranes, grab cranes and explosion-proof cranes.
How long does it take to manufacture and install an EOT crane?
A standard single girder EOT crane is typically delivered in 4–6 weeks and erected in 2–4 days. Double girder and heavy duty cranes usually take 8–12 weeks depending on capacity, span and attachments. Site readiness of gantry girders, rails and power supply drives the erection schedule.
What duty class should I choose?
Class I is for occasional light use such as maintenance bays, Class II for moderate regular use in workshops and warehouses, Class III for heavy regular use in production bays, and Class IV for continuous severe duty in steel plants and foundries. Choosing the right class as per IS 3177 protects you from premature wear and structural fatigue.
Do you supply gantry girders, DSL busbars and crane rails too?
Yes. We can supply and erect the complete system — gantry girders, crane rails and clamps, DSL shrouded busbar, feeder panels, earthing and operator training — so you deal with one vendor for the whole lifting installation.
