Gantry & Goliath crane questions, answered
What is the difference between a gantry crane and a goliath crane?
Both run on ground rails. A goliath crane is a full gantry with legs on both sides carrying the bridge, usually for heavy outdoor duty, while a semi-gantry crane has one leg on the ground and the other end running on an elevated gantry girder inside a shed. Smaller portable A-frame units are also called gantry cranes.
Can gantry cranes be used outdoors?
Yes. Outdoor gantry and goliath cranes are supplied with weatherproof panels, IP-rated motors, an outdoor paint system, rail clamps, storm anchors and cable reeling drums for power feeding.
What capacity gantry cranes do you manufacture?
From 2 Ton to 80 Ton, with spans up to 35 m and cantilevers up to 6 m on each side, in single or double girder configuration.
Do you supply rails and foundation drawings?
Yes. We provide rail sizes, wheel loads and foundation load data with the GA drawing, and we can supply and lay the rails and clamps as part of the erection scope.
